Atmospheric correction using "6S" program in the study of vegetation cover estimation

内容 研究概要:The importance of atmospheric correction of the AVHRR data for green vegetation cover estimation using the vegetation indices is examined for a study area in Mongolia. Atmospheric corrections using '6S' program were applied to Channel 1 and Channel 2 data. The results were expressed as the difference between corrected and uncorrected reflectances. The corrections of the Channel 1 and Channel 2 resulted that maximum difference between corrected and uncorrected NDVI was about 0.18 in high vegetated area. In desert and semi-desert area, the change of the NDVI was about 0.06.
