内容 The effect of anatomical features at macroscopic level on the elastic anisotropy of hardwood in the radial-tangential plane was investigated by means of the simulation analysis. The model used waa composite consisting of three components simulating patterns of cell arrangement in the cross section of hardwood. Two of the components were plates with many circular holes representing fiber and vessels, respectively. Another one was a plate representing ray issue in which substance and void aligned in parallel. The rule of mixture was applied to the composite model to evaluate Young's moduli. The variables employed were fractional volume and specific gravity of each component andl ring angle. The calculated values agreed well with the experimental ones reported by the other authers. The results of the analysis showed that the elastic anisotropy in hardwood depend largely on fractional volume of ray tissue, although other variables contributed to some extent.
