内容 In order to find out the correlation between the dehydration figure and the lattice defect, the nucleation and the growth of the dehydration figure are observed in details by the optical microscope. Following are the results made clear. 1. By the etching with mixed solution of alcohol and water, the pit of a truncated pyramid appears at the position where the star-like dehydration figure has been. In the subsequent dehydration process, the dehydration figure appears preferentially at the pit. 2. The hillock appears on the specimen surface at the stage of after-treatment of crystal preparation. The dehydration figure also appears preferentially at the position of the hillock. 3. The microcrack in the surface layer of the specimen has an important role for the nucleation and the growth of the star-like dehydration figure.
