内容 抽象作用の機能水準としての, 概念的抽象, 前概念的抽象, 知覚的抽象, 非解答の諸水準の転換が, 縦断面的発達の場合にもたしかめられるかどうかについて, 約1年間の期間を隔て, 同一被験者31名(男子15名, 女子16名)を対象に, 同一条件の下で, 実験をくりかえし実施した。その結果, 非解答→知覚的抽象→前概念的抽象→概念的抽象への段階的な発達をたどるものが, すぐれて多いことが示され, 横断面的方法による研究結果と, 縦断面的方法による本実験の結果とに矛盾のないことが知られた。
The two series of experiments previously made by the author revealed that each of the four functional levels of abstraction, i.e., conceptual abstraction, pre-conceptual abstraction, perceptual abstraction, and wrong-and-no-answer, gains or declines as the child grows older. The cross-section method wasadopted for the experiments. The purpose of the present study is to see if the same tendency may be observed in child's longitudinal development. The same procedure was followed twice with an interval of about one year. The subjects, 15 boys and 16 girls, were all eight years old at the time of the first experiment. The order of the levels followed by most of the 31 subjects is the same as the order observed in the previous experiments, that is, wrong-and-no-answer, perceptual abstraction, pre-conceptual abstraction, and conceptual abstraction in the order of the development of their ability of abstraction. This means that there is no contradiction between the results obtained by the cross-section method and those obtained by the longitudinal method.
