内容 1. After the finish of training for one of two sites apart 41 cm from each other, honey bees (Apis mellifera ligustica) were able to choose exactly the trained site among the two or three sites placed in a row at intervals greater than 10cm. On the contrary, the choice of feeding site was remarkably confused at the interval of 5 cm. 2. When the short edge of feeding table was situated in rectangular to the direction of hive entrance, bees were inclined to prefer a top site nearest toward the hive entrance to other sites placed in a line notwithstanding whether the preferred site was trained for the bees or not. 3. In the presentation of three sites, bees were perplexed and mainly preferred the untrained central site with the increase of a crossing angle of a straight line connecting the three sites and a straight one parallel to the long edge of feeding table. 4. Bees wavered markedly in choice of feeding site with the rotation of the feeding table itself greater than 40° from the original place. From the degree of confusion, it was inferred that the rotation of the table has the greatest effect on bee's choice of feeding site placed on the table and the positional change of sites within the table is next to this. On the other hand, bee's preference of sites was seriously not affected by rotating the hive to the right and the left of the original place.
