内容 In the present paper the author carried out further morphological and physiological investigations concerning the isolated and pure cultured leaf nodule endophyte of Pavetta lanceolata. 1. Through the electronmicroscopic survey it was deepened a conviction that the isolant belongs to the group of Bacillus, having no particular morphological properties. 2. The endophitic isolant's optimum temperature for growth was 25〜30℃, and observed fairly favorable growth even at 37℃ and under room temperature (15±7℃). In any cases, developed yellowish and round colonies on potato, pea and synthetic media. 3. Favorable growth of the endophyte in synthetic .media was observed at initial pH 5, 7 and 8, but scarecely grew at pH 2 and 3, showing turbidity 0.3 and 1.7, respectively. After 14-day culture, all the cultured media changed to fairly strong acididy (pH 2.2〜4.2). 4. The endophyte grew in direct proportion to the quantity of asparagin (0.005〜0.50) in glucose containing (2, %} synthetic media, and even in asparagin-free medium observed a trace of growth, showing pH 3.3 and turbidity 0.5. 5. The endophyte grew best in the mixture of mannit + peptone synthetic medium, followed to this was peptone and asparagin media as N-source, and also observed a trace of growth even in N-free medium. 6. The turbidity of the cultured medium was in the order of pea (65.3), potato (62.3) and synthetic (45.3) and limitted to the pea-extract medium showed alkality (pH 8.75) on 14th day, but in the others showed acidity (pH 3.20 and 3.35) and smelled different odor. 7. The endophyte showed no indole compound productive ability even in tryptophane rich medium. 8. After cultured the endophyte in synthetic medium, analysed the N_2 volume employing the semimicro Kjeldahl method, but not only no increase of nitrogen was proved in the cultured medium but on the contrary it decreased in proportion to the term of cultivation. 9.
