内容 チューリップの早期促成に重要な要因である球根生産土質(新潟県砂土産, 砂壌土産), 低温処理中の発根温度(8℃, 14℃)および定植当時の球根発根程度(0〜1, 1〜2, 2〜3, 4〜6, 7〜10cm)を組合せて1958年より実験を行なった.使用品種はWilliam Pitt. (1)ノーズおよび花芽の発育は砂地産の14℃発根処理したものが早い.(2)発根は砂土産の14℃処理区の球根が早かった.(3)地上部の生育は初期では砂土産球の8℃処理区が最も早い.しかし後期(定植後2ケ月ぐらい)より砂壌土産球の伸長がまさり開花時には砂壌土産球の草丈が最も高くなった.開花時の草丈は発根処理温度間には顕著な差がみられない.いずれの時期でも定植時の発根程度の差による生育差は不明であった.(4)開花時の第一葉の大きさは14℃処理した砂壌土産球のものが大きかった.砂地のものは葉色がうすい.(5)開花は砂土産の8℃処理区が最も早い.しかし花被は小さく, 切れた花弁, 葯の減少個体が多く現われた.切花の品質の点は開花は遅いが(2週間遅れる)砂壌土産の14℃処埋区が最もすぐれた.発根程度の差による開花の遅速, ブラインド発生増加は一定の傾向がみられなかったが, 切れた花弁の花が多く現われた.(6)発根の長いもの程, 定植時に切傷を防ぐため多くの時間・労力を要するので発根2cm内外が生育・開花のために安全と考えられる.
A considerable amount of research concerning the cold storage tempertures for the forcing of tulip bulbs has been conducted since many years. In Japan forcing of tulips in commercial greenhouses or frames for Christmas or earlier (from the end of November) and for New Year's Day has been very popular at present. The present main subjects in forcing tulips are to bloom them much earlier in the season and to produce higher quality cut-flowers. It is indicated from many investigations so far or from long practical experiences that the factors affecting the earliness of flowering and quality of cut-flowers in the tulip forcing are considered to be bulb production conditions prior to forcing, bulb storage conditions, and growing conditions of forcing tulips. From the point of view of progress in forcing study, however, the accent has been far too much on the bulb storage conditions and not enough on bulb production conditions in the field or growing conditions in the forcing. From these respects, this preliminary and practical experiment (1958〜1959) was designed to see the difference of forcing quality of William Pitt tulips Produced by the bulbs grown on two types of soils (sandy and sandy loam soil), having different precooling storage temperatures (8 and 14 degrees C) prior to cold storage (0〜3 degrees C), and by those planted at various degrees of rooting in greenhouse (Table 1.). The sandy soil-grown bulbs of 13.2 cm in circumference and 35.3 gm in weight and sandy loam-grown ones of 13.5 cm and 36.5 gm, collected from Niigata Prefecture, one of the bulb production areas in Japan, were used in this study. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Storage of sandy soil-grown bulbs at 14 degrees C resulted in the earliest development of their noses and flower buds. 2) The earliest bulb rooting was obtained from the sandy soil-grown bulbs storeod at 14 degrees C. 3) Sandy soil-grown bulbs stored at 8 degrees C grew most rapidly at their younger stage, but later (about two months after planting) growth of bulbs gr
