内容 新素材の一つである保水剤(高吸水性ポリマー)の土壌への適用が有効であるか否かを明らかにするため, 土壌物理性のうち, 本報では保水性の基本であるpF-水分特性について遠心法により検討した.得られた結果は以下のとおりである.1)pF-水分特性からみた保水剤の保水性は土壌に比べて極めて大きい.2)砂の保水性は一部に逆転はあるものの, おおむね粒径の大きいほど小さい.3)保水剤の砂に対する保水性向上効果は著しく大きく, 又, 粉末保水剤の方が顆粒に比べて砂の保水性を増大させている.4)概して, 粒径の小さい土壌ほど, 保水性に対する効果は小さい.5)黒ボクや関東ロームの保水性は生土と風乾土との間に大きな差が存在する.6)有機質に対する保水剤の効果はかなり小さい.
Water holding substance is a high water absorptive polymer and is one of the new materials. The study was conducted to clarify characteristics of soil physical properties by adding water holding substances. In the present paper, the high water retention value (pF 2.5-4.0) of the soil containing the water holding substances was measured and compared with the original soil, using the centrifuging method. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The water retention of water holding substance, obtained by the pF-moisture curve, was very large in comparison with that of soils. 2. With a few exceptions, the water retention of sand was roughly in inverse proportion to the grain size. 3. Increase in the water retention of sand by adding water holding substances was very large, and powder substance was superior in this effect to granular one. 4. Generally, fine particle soils showed less effect on the water retention than coarse particle soils. 5. There was a large difference in water retention with kuroboku soil and Kanto loam between fresh soils and air dried soils. 6. The effect of water holding substances to the organic soils was small.
