赤玉の保水特性に関する研究   :   Study on the Soil Water Retentivity of Akadama Soil

内容 植物根の水分吸収と密接な関係のある各種土壌の水分特性は土壌構造の違いにより左右される.代表的な園芸用土である「赤玉」は典型的な団粒構造であるが, 水分特性は必ずしも明らかにされていない.本研究の主たる目的は「赤玉」の保水特性を明らかにすることである.本研究は赤玉の生産地を訪問することから初め, 続いて室内の実験を行った.その結果, いくつかの点が明らかとなり, 以下のように要約された.1.赤玉団粒集合体の三相分布については固相率: 17.7%, 液相率:12%, 気相率:70.3%である.赤玉団粒の有効間隙が71%もあり, かなり多い間隙をもっている土であった.
All sorts of soil water characteristics relating closely to the water uptake by plant roots depend on their soil structures. Although the gardening soil called Akadama has a typical aggregating structure, the water characteristics of it has not been discussed in detail before. The purpose of this research was to investigate the physical characteristics of Akadama. According to observation in nature spots and experiments in laboratory. We obtained the results which were summarized as follows: 1. The three phase of integrated-Akadama is that the solid is 17.7%, the liquid is 12.0%, the gas is 70.3%.0 The valid pore of integrated-Akadama is 71.0%.0 This shows that there are much more inner-pore in the unit-Akadama. 2. When Akadama is in saturation, the pore of integrated-Akadama is filled with the water, the retentivity of the integrated-Akadama is higher than that of unit-Akadama. 3. The volume fraction of soil liquid (θ) of unit-Akadama is higher than integrated-Akadama on the same water potential condition. That is say: in integrated-Akadama, the high retentivity of unit-Akadama and low retentivity of inter pore interact, leading to it having proper retentivity and drainage.
