内容 The morphology of the dendritic spine on calycal neurons of honeybee workers was compared in various groups of bees and the effects of an exposure to strong magnetic field were examined. The honeybees were classified into 6 groups, newly emerged bees, 5 days-old bees which were deprived her ordinal hive activities, 5 days-old jobless bees which were exposed to a strong magnetic field, 10 days-old jobless bees, 10 days-old bees without employment in a strong magnetic field, and forager bees. The result indicated that the overall spine length, stem length and head length respectively increased according to age, and this corresponds to the increase of neuropile volume. Bees exposed to strong magnetic field had spines with enlarged head width, indicating that much magnetic sensory inputs changed the efficiency of synaptic transmission.
